This is the start of the Girls of TV bracket. Originally I wanted to have 32 lovely ladies to fill out this bracket, however, as I got into it and was given ideas, the cutoff became 40.
So, the first few rounds will be known as the 'play-in' rounds. The 10th seed will take on the 7th seed and the winner moves on to take on the 2nd seed. Also, the 9th seed will take on the 8th seed with the winner of that round moving on to take on the first seed.
Well, here we go - the first 'play-in' round.
(7) Connie Britton
I have not seen this show yet, but as it concludes this year I have added all of the seasons to my Netflix queue. Britton plays Tami Taylor, the wife of head football coach Eric Taylor, on Friday Night Lights.
(10) Alyson Hannigan
Hannigan is probably more known for American Pie or her time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but she is currently holding court as kindergarten teacher, Lily Aldrin, on CBS' How I Met Your Mother.
Connie was also in briefly in season 5 of 24.
ReplyDeleteWow... Hannigan as a 10 seed? For shame! My vote definitely went to her.
ReplyDeleteAs I said before, the seedings may be a bit out of whack - but with voters like you, the seedings dont really matter.
ReplyDeleteI think what it comes down to here is, "do you like girls or women?" I chose the woman - Britton. ;) Seriously, though, Hannigan might be in her 30s, but still looks like she's 14.
ReplyDeleteI should note that I've never watched a minute of any of their shows.
Dylan: WTF you need to to go and watch 7 seasons of Buffy then!!!!!!!! Jeez
ReplyDeleteDylan has an allergy to Joss Whedon.
ReplyDeleteBritton!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am a former Buffy fan, I have to go Britton on this one. She is one pretty woman.
ReplyDelete@ Joel - Yeah...that's just not gonna happen. I don't hate Whedon, but the show has never appealed to me. I saw the Firefly movie...it was pretty good. That's about as far as I go into Whedonville.
ReplyDeleteDylan: You are breaking my heart man! The firefly movie doesn't even come close to the brilliance of the Buffster.
ReplyDeleteI really wish you'd reconsider. I'm not a total Wheedon dork that worships everything he scribbles down on a napkin but Buffy is by far the best TV-series ever produced. The only series that comes close (but in a total different way) is The Wire.
Perhaps one day, Joel...but don't hold your breath. Doesn't help that I don't particularly like any of the show's stars. But moreover, I'm just sick of vampire stuff. I won't watch True Blood, either.
ReplyDeleteYou are missing the point, its not really a show about vampires but I'll give you a break now.
