(3) Padme Amidala vs. (6) Chewbacca

As expected Luke Skywalker waltzes into the third round. I thought the Yoda/Wicket matchup would be close, but it seems Yoda has the backing of the masses and also moves on quite easily.

Mother and Daughter return again today to take on some important pieces of the Star Wars universe. Remember to vote for both.

(3) Padme Amidala

Padme Amidala was portrayed by Natalie Portman in all of the prequel trilogy films. Unlike Fisher, Portman had many film roles as a child, which is why George Lucas selected her for the role of Padme. Fun Fact: In Return of the Jedi Leia mentions remembering her mother as beautiful, but sad even though Padme died shortly after child birth. Though it is not confirmed it is believed that Leia learns of this through The Force, either in the womb or during childhood.

(6) Chewbacca

Chewbacca was portrayed by Peter Mayhew during the original trilogy and also in Revenge of the Sith. Mayhew was chosen for the part because of his height, standing at 7 feet-3 inches tall. Fun Fact: George Lucas had originally planned on having a large battle using Wookiees from early drafts of A New Hope and again in Return of the Jedi, which eventually became the Ewoks. Finally in Revenge of the Sith the Wookiees had their moment.

  1. The seeding in this tournament has generally been great, but this one is off.

  2. In the grand scheme of the Star Wars Universe, Padme is a more important character. I mean she is the main reason for Anakin turning to the Dark Side and gives birth to the child that will eventually destroy the Empire.

In popularity, you are absolutely right. I believe Chewbacca is much more popular than Padme. In the end she got this rating more because I kept the two ladies (her and Leia) at the same seed.

But, as I have said before, seedings technically don't matter because the people will move forward who they want.

Thanks for the comment and for participating.
